Reality Blurred is the first true news blog of reality television covering the most newsworthy events of The Real World since July 5th, 2000.  I find the site to be very well written as well having timely and accurate updates on the show.

Andy Dehnart is the man behind Reality Blurred as well a journalist, writer, and critic for MSNBC.  He has a Master of Fine Arts in nonfiction writing and literature from Bennington College as well an unofficial degree in reality TV.

MM Agency Real World Resources - MTV Reality World

April 16th, 2007 at 12:43 am PST by Michael Martin

mtv reality world

This week as the Reunited: Real World Las Vegas is filming I would like to credit the resources on the web that provide credible information on the Real World & Road Rules as well work with the MM Agency to verify information and have cast members provided for interviews.

Today I would like to credit MTV Reality World which has been up for almost 2 years by an avid fan of most if not all of the reality programs on MTV, Shea Sylvia.  She started blogging in Beverly Hills as fate took her all the way to Wichita, Kansas.  There she works for b5 Media where the site was created and has grown exponentially over the past year.  She is most proud of the fact that the readers can have a community to talk & ask questions about her passion that she shares with them being their favorite MTV shows.

The MTV Reality World site’s tagline is that “they watch and you read“.  Coverage on the site seems to be proportional to the viewership of the shows, as currently The Hills is very popular and this translates to the majority of the recent posts along with The Real World.

The site first contacted the MM Agency to confirm Svetlana Shusterman of The Real World Key West birthday parties were being used for a 21 version of Super Sweet 16 for this post - http://www.mtvrealityworld.com/2006/12/27/svetlana-celebrates-her-birthday-the-mtv-way-on-camera/

The site had published almost a year prior back in January 2006 that MTV was looking for a 21st birthday to film for the series.

Reunited: Real World Las Vegas Officially Announced by MTV

April 10th, 2007 at 10:29 am PST by Michael Martin

MTV has announced today officially that the Reunited: Real World Las Vegas will be filming this April and air in late Spring 2007.

The entire cast of The Real World Las Vegas will be reunited in the same Palms Casino Resort suite to be taped for a short reunion series.

This was mentioned here first a week earlier on Tuesday April 3rd, 2007 on this Real World Las Vegas 2 Post.

Trishelle Cannatella was even on the Fox News program Red Eye this past Friday April 6th before leaving to Las Vegas next week to film Reunited: Real World Las Vegas.

The MTV press release on this first ever Real World reunion, where the complete cast are reunited and live together to be filmed again in the same house or suite in this case, is presented below:

MTV SCORES WINNING HAND

GREENLIGHTING FIRST EVER REUNION SERIES

“REUNITED: THE REAL WORLD VEGAS”

Production Begins This Month at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas

New York, NY April 10, 2007 MTV: Music Television and Bunim-Murray Productions announce today a first-ever for the The Real World franchise as they take a trip back to Sin City in Reunited: The Real World Vegas This new series turns the tables on the original cast of The Real World: Las Vegas as they head into their former home The Real World suite at the Palms Casino Resort — to see what’s happened in the five years since the seven cast members lived together.  Production begins this month and will premiere on MTV later this spring.

Who says you can never go home again?  For the first time ever we welcome back a Real World cast to let the story continue — and who better than the kids from Las Vegas, said Lois, President, Entertainment Programming, MTV.  By experimenting and creating this unique event, we are giving fans the chance to check in with one of their favorite casts and discover how much the fishbowl experience changed them.

The Real World: Las Vegas was one of the series most popular, dare I say infamous editions, said Jon Murray, The Real World Co-Creator and Chairman & President of Bunim-Murray Productions.  I know viewers will want to check back into The Palms with the cast and see what they’ve been up to and what they’ll get up to!

We are extremely excited about the opportunity to host Reunited: The Real World Vegas, said George Maloof, Owner, Palms Casino Resort. The original show had such an impact on Las Vegas and was responsible for the massive interest in filming reality shows in Las Vegas since 2002.

For the first time, a new dynamic will be introduced — No longer seven strangers, Trishelle, Steven, Brynn, Irulan, Frank, Alton and Arissa have history but these relationships may now change once they reconnect.  New loves, new dramas and new stages of life are to be expected, but are more hot tubs, heartbreaks and catfights in store? Or has the cast left all of that in the past?

While this is the first revisit to a season of The Real World, past seasons have taken place in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Miami, Boston, Seattle, Hawaii, New Orleans, Chicago, Paris, San Diego, Philadelphia, Austin, Key West and Denver.

The Real World was created for MTV by Jon Murray and Mary Ellis-Bunim of Bunim-Murray Productions, and Jon Murray serves as Executive Producer.  Jim Johnston is Executive Producer and Ken Chien is the Supervising Producer of Reunited: The Real World Vegas.  Drew Tappon and Jacquelyn French are Executives in Charge of Production for MTV.
