Bunim-Murray Productions will be casting for The Real World 21 at various locations in February 2008.

The first casting call of the month being in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania whereby the The Pitt News contacted the supervising casting director Damon Furberg asking him what he is looking for in this Real World cast.

“We’re looking for some people who are passionate about things going on in the world around them, be it a political cause, or the environment or a social issue.”

“We’re always looking for people that are very outgoing, people that are interested in other people around them, people that have interesting life stories.”

“If you are somebody that has a really interesting story but you’re afraid you’re not going to stand out in a crowd, submitting online or sending a tape in is probably your best bet.”

“If you’re somebody who does have that big personality and you do stand out in a crowd, then a casting call is the way to go.”

The Real World casting call will divide people into groups of 10 then each person will describe their life and personality with the casting directors.

It is recommended to arrive early but if you can’t attend the casting call in Pittsburgh there will be others on February 2nd in Portland Oregon and Birmingham Alabama.  On next Saturday the 9th the casting calls will be in College Station Texas and Chicago Illinois.

MTV Gauntlet 3 and Super Bowl 42 Comparisons

January 30th, 2008 at 3:35 pm PST by Michael Martin

super bowl 42

The Angry T wrote an interesting comparison of The Real World Road Rules Challenge Gauntlet 3 and Super Bowl 42.

He break it down that the Rookies Team represents the New York Giants while the Veterans Team are the New England Patriots.

Evan spelled Tom Brady since he is chronically the favorite and usually makes it to the end.  In my mind if anyone from the challenges would epitomize Brady it would be The Miz.

Kenny is Eli Manning since it was expected he would last beyond the initial Fresh Meat Challenge.

CT is the original 81 Randy Moss.  I can see the similarities and adding in that CT is from Boston and a big Patriots fan.  Equally he could be compared to Paxico Burress.

Coral is to represent Michael Stahan as they both have dominating personalities.

Diem is claimed to be Tedy Bruschi as they both overcome life-threatening illnesses.  In my mind Derek from challenges past would equal Bruschi due to using his determination to beat people that he easily under-sizes.

The most interesting comparison is Junior Seau and Brad.  Both have their ties to San Diego and have come so close to winning.  Who will win first?

As the Super Bowl tag-line says, Who wants it more!

Gauntlet 3 Real World Road Rules Challenge May be the Last

January 17th, 2008 at 12:52 pm PST by Michael Martin

guantlet 3 challenge

Gauntlet 3 is the 15th Real World Road Rules Challenge and will premiere on Wednesday January 23rd at 10pm and very well could be the last one ever in this series.

This should be an exciting show with many hookups and the possible highlight being an altercation between CT and Johnny, but I concur with Evelyn stating on her Myspace page that the ratings NEED to be good for the Challenge to continue beyond this season.

I know The Real World Sydney and the latest Challenges have been trumped in the ratings on MTV by The Hills and Tila Tequila.

There has been no extension of the contract for both the Challenges and The Real World culminating with The Real World Hollywood and Gauntlet 3 even tho Bunim-Murray is casting for Real World 21.

It is a legitimate casting but in my opinion the casting is using the Real World name to attract people to the casting calls but in the end wont actually be on The Real World but be placed on other Bunim-Murray Production shows.

Real World Golden Globes Awards 2008 with Puck Rainey

January 14th, 2008 at 11:46 pm PST by Michael Martin

Puck Rainey from The Real World was one of the guests on the red carpet for the 65th Annual 2008 Golden Globe Awards in this parody hosted by Taryn Southern.

On January 7, 2008 it was announced that, due to the 2007-08 Writers Guild of America strike, the 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards would not be telecast live.

The ceremony was faced with a threat by actors to boycott the ceremony rather than cross picket lines and by striking writers threatening to picket the event.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association which hosts the Golden Globes and NBC were forced to adopt another approach for the broadcast.

Who else is left but unscripted NON union reality stars like Puck Rainey from the Real World, and others from Beauty and the Geek, Joe Millionaire, The Apprentice, Survivor, The Amazing Race, America’s Most Smartest Model, and even Perez Hilton.

In this spoof, directed by Richie Keen and David Garrett, The Heavy Show host Taryn Southern brings you all the action from the red carpet at the 2008 Golden Globes.
