Joey Kovar is recovering from addictions of both alcohol and drugs but has to decide if he wants it “crazy bad” to make it on The Real World Hollywood.
Charna Halpern of iO taught improv to Joey and the rest of The Real World Hollywood cast on MTV and spoke recently to the Chicago Sun Times since she worked both at the Chicago and Los Angeles branches of ImprovOlympic.
Charna revealed that when noticing most of the cast members were hung over and didn’t want to participate in the classes she told them in order to make it entertainment you must want it “crazy bad” as her former students Tina Fey and Mike Myers did.
Joey took this to heart and threw himself into the classes and impressed so much upon Ms. Halpern that she offered him free classes at iO in Chicago where Joey is from.
Beyond being the cast’s boss Charna also provided counseling to them, especially Joey who confided in her during the show as he dealt with his rage and addictions, but ultimately had to leave the show early.
Now back in Chicago Joey must determine if he still wants it “crazy bad”.
Joey is incredibly sexy, charismatic, and genuine. I feel for him and his issues; it’s very freeing to see someone be so open with thier inner demons on national television. I really hope that he stays on the show, I’d love to see more of him in the future.

Joey i really enjoy watching you on the real world. I am sad to hear that you will eventually leave the show. You’re a good guy and i wish you the best in all you do. Take it easy and don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re adorable. Stay away from alcohol, drugs, and trashy people and you will be fine. My twin, husband and I think you are great! My husband’s a body builder and we understand the lifestyle. It definately takes a lot of dedication and hard work. Good Luck to you and God Bless

Joey, Get a grip. you are really suffering from some problems. Pysch meds might help. you are not the only person who has problems. You get drunk then expect people to feel sorry for you. It’s not my fault, you say. Bullsh*t. It is your fault. Learn to be proud of what you have accomplished so far in life. You don’t need other peoples pity. Walk proud in silence and be a good person.
