The 23rd season of The Real World is confirmed in the Dupont Circle area of Washington DC with filming starting the weekend on June 20th, 2009 through the end of the summer of 2009.
The DC Real World will have to top the high level political debates sure to be on display during the preceding season of The Real World Cancun.
Although the only real hint of Real World politics recently is from Ryan Conklin of the Real World Brooklyn who posted that he is doing well in Saydiyah, a section of Baghdad, and that this Iraq is a different Iraq than what he last saw in 2006 as its a MUCH safer country and for the first time he actually believes it can stand on its own.
Back in the US, the physical location of The Real World DC house is 2000 S Street NW at the corner of 20th Street in Dupont Circle.
Once the cast moves in around Saturday June 20th, 2009 you can track them by checking out this customized Google Map by the Washingtonian and notify them at realworld@washingtonian.com.
Of course there is already backlash against the upcoming filming so headlining this movement is The Anti-Real World DC at this site.
Standard quotes about the season include:
Tony DiSanto, MTV’s president of programming, said MTV is “thrilled to be filming our classic franchise in the heart of where history is being made. The charged atmosphere of Washington D.C., the center of our country’s social and political change, will provide an electric setting for this next season of the Real World”
Jonathan Murray, the creator and Executive Producer of The Real World added “Young people have never been more engaged in what’s happening in this country and Washington, D.C., is the perfect place for The Real World’ cast to express their opinions and pursue their passions.”
“In a time when our country has witnessed the impact and spirit of our nation’s young people, it is a pleasure to welcome MTV and The Real World cast to the District of Columbia as they utilize the immense opportunities that the District’s backdrop will undoubtedly provide,” said Adrian M. Fenty, Mayor of Washington D.C.

If they film in the summer, there will be no students thus less exciting, and it will be hot and humid.
Clearly you’re not from here. DC/MD/VA students come home during the summer, and there are interns galore. Oh yeah, and two words: Adams Morgan.
OH YEA… to Adams Morgan! Outside of that… Fenty could have someone approach him to carve a tattoo on every DC statue’s forehead that says “taco” and he’d let them for the right price. No surprise he’s in support.
when do they start casting for this season
So this DC season should be finishing filming soon, like in September, right? So are the auditions for season 24 going to begin in October like in the past? Because I have my casting tape ready and I would like to know when to send it in. Also, are there still open casting calls, or do they only contact the people they would like to interview after they have seen a casting tape or an email?
Yo this sucks why would they have it there theu could at least try to have it like in a fancy hotel or sumthin wow but we will see what it lookes like on the inside
when will this real world air on tv??
