Casting calls for The Real World 26 had begun in February and continue through March 2011 as The Real World Las Vegas 25 itself will start airing on MTV Wednesday March 9th.
Casting directors are looking for:
- Being at least 18 years old and not turn 24 until filming starts
- Being able to provide a photo ID along with a recent photo.
- Involved with goth, emo, or the punk subculture
- Obese people
- Affected by a natural disaster
- Products of home or alternative schooling
- Followers of unrecognized or non-mainstream belief systems
- Elite athletes
- Recent graduates affected by the economic downturn
- Members of a pro-abstinence organization
- Recently single due to a tragedy
- Recently gotten out of the foster care system
- Want to bring spotlight to a cause, condition, or social issue they care deeply about or are personally affected by
Boston, Chicago, Houston & Madison Wisconsin had the initial Real World casting calls for season 26 on Saturday February 26th but will continue in other cities throughout March.

Your mileage my vary as it can be nearly instant to even months later, depending on how the cast director feels they progressed in the casting process.

So if you are 24 right now can you be casted on the show? I understand that production doesn't start for a few months. Or do you need to be 23 and then can turn 24 during production?
Unfortunately its generally as long as you don’t turn 24 before actual production starts, which most likely will be in late Summer/Fall 2011…you can still try, but be prepared for the casting staff to state you are too old to apply

I would attend the casting call & notify them your availability but adding any constraints lessens your chance of being selected
I see people creating facebook groups that say help me get on real world 26… will this really help

Yes it is, the above is an initial target feature set, but the right person can change that

Bring your pass to the casting & it normally provides a front of line or VIP line access.

hey I also received a VIP pass but I would have to drive 7 hours for the auditions and I recently broke back and just got out of my body cast 2 days ago…..I think thats why they were interested but do you think its worth it?

when i audition last year for season 25 i had to fill out a 16 page packet then about two days later they called and scheduled me for an on camera interview with a producer after that i was asked to send in a home tape.. never heard back after the home tape!!

In the spur of the moment I had a feeling and sent in my information lastnight. Then today I found this blog and I fit perfectly with some of the things the directors are looking for, but noticed that casting calls were only mentioned through April.. is it too late?? I feel like this would be an unbelievable opportunity..
Some of the criteria that is being asked for in order is alittle broad and in my mind alittle in sulting such as Obese people. I thought the show was for diversity no matter what as long as the person was unique and can bring a different outlook than what others have seen before. If you want to have people on the show…watch what you are asking for because it can seem insensitive to others
