Real World Road Rules Blogger is NOT DEAD

by Michael Martin on January 14, 2008

There were comments posted within the Real World Road Rules Site that the blogger passed away as an explanation for the lack of postings since December 12th, 2007.

The comments claimed to be the bloggers mother, Diane Strauss (not the real blogger’s mother’s name), stated that her son Alan (again not the real blogger’s name, which is in fact, Mario) had died of bacterial meningitis.  Although the disease is fatal it would not occur suddenly and being extremely rare as it is, even when occuring it would mostly be with infants.

Unexplicably the commenter furthered the ruse by posting it twice as a way to make it seem legitimate and stating Alan is leaving behind a wife Kelly and two daughters, a 2-year-old named Alexis and a 7-month-old named Jenna.

Mario emailed me in regards to this on Sunday January 13th:

I’m not dead. Furthermore, my name is not Alan, nor is my mother’s name Diane. I do not have a wife, nor two kids. :D

I am well and alive. I had taken a break from the blog, almost unconsciously, as I had so much going on in the past couple months. I’m in the midst of completing a PhD program right now, so for lack of a better explanation, I got a lot of sh*t going on.
