The Duel
October 20th, 2006 at 4:40 pm PST by Tina Barta of Road Rules South PacificI finally got around to watching the last two episodes of the Duel and I figured I’d take a few minutes to address the situation and speculation. I have gotten numerous messages about why I have chosen to eliminate myself in the challenge.
Allot has happened to me since my original season of Road Rules. I have grown, my priorities have changed, and tolerance for childish manipulative behavior has weaned.
Therefore, as a result I decided to make a graceful exit and leave with a bang. I hope that the remaining episodes are just as drama filled and prove to be just as entertaining. Thanks for all the support over the years.

Do you not think body checking someone and saying ‘don’t fuck with me’ is childish? And punching someone is definately childish. You need to learn some new “grown up” ways to cope with your anger. Try deep breathing or counting to ten!

Tina, I dont understand why everyone is acting like what you did is ok. No matter how annoyed you are with someone, it is never okay to punch a person in the face. It shows complete lack of control, etiquette and common sense. CT was right when he said that you just completely lost it and are trying to rationalize what you did. If punching a person is how you deal with pressure, you need counseling. Not to mention…you “body checked” Beth first, so she was 100% justified in coming over to tell you that it was unacceptable and she wouldn’t take it. I don’t like her at all, she’s annoying as hell, but I’m a woman and wouldn’t think of actually ever hitting someone.
Leave “gracefully????” You think that a woman punching someone in the face is graceful? I can’t even imagine where you grew up or under what circumstances, to believe that. I feel sorry for you. You made a fool of yourself and you lost out on a great opportunity. This is something you will surely look back on one day and be mortified over.

Your in desperate need of attention for the cameras its not even entertaning anymore. Are you that desperate for attention to take away Diems moment? Not cool. Beleive it or not your still one of my favorite players and I look forward to seeing more of you in the future. Punching someone is not cool. Just dont try to hard for the cameras.

What is graceful about the Brazilian police having an open charge against you or Bunim/Murray spiriting you out of the country before you could be interviewed by the police and perhaps charged with assault? You will be lucky if Beth doesn’t file a civil suit against you. All the evidence she needs in on tape.

Does this mean that you are out of any future challenges? This is how I read your statement. I really could care less because your mouth is just way too much for me when they interview you after challenges and such. You always have so much to say about the new people to the challenges and if memory serves me correctly, you were an afterthought that came in just for a very short while after someone left.

wow… If any of you who are dissing on tina had actually seen anything else beth was on you’d know that she had it coming. EVERYONE has wanted to take a shot at her, and I know Tina has wanted to for years… so when the opportunity presented itself she took it. She did what we all have been waiting for and i thank her for that golden moment in RR/RW history.
everyone wants her on there challenges because this is the way she is- she doesn’t take shit from anyone, so don’t bitch when she lives up to her rep. And just so you all know, Tina is an awesome person, on camera and off- her drama is why most people watch the freaking show. Beth has no place in the challenges- she may be an alumni but as anessa said, “beth just sucks” ……

Body checked means that she threw her body against Beth’s…basically, she pushed her with her entire body, for no reason other than she doesn’t like her. Then she got pissed off when Beth complained about it, and punched her in the face. Very graceful.

First of all, Ellie, I’ve seen every RR/RW show ever filmed. I know all about Beth…from day one in S.F. back in the day. She’s an idiot…no doubt about it. BUT…she is no more annoying than Tina is. Tina is loud, bitchy and her voice is like a cheese grater on raw nerves. Everyone hates Beth, and Beth reacts to the negativity she feels from everyone.
No one EVER deserves to get punched. Punching someone in the face merely serves to demonstrate that you have no self control, you have nothing intelligent enough to say and therefore have to resort to physical violence, and that you are GHETTO. Furthermore, Tina’s fans can not spell for shit, which also proves that she and all of her fans are GHET-TO. Please do yourself a favor and learn the difference between there/their and they’re.

Tina, I agree w/half the people on this page! Graceful?? B/c you punched Beth! You’re an idiot. You are so bitchy and talk so much crap it drives me nuts!!! All this your fresh meat what do you expect on the last challenge made me so mad. Not only do you suck at the games but I mean really what do you do except run that loud ass mouth! Ya know I could understand if you won some of the missions but you arent good!!!! Why are they even inviting you back…..o b/c YOU give them the drama they need.

I’m not the violent type, but if someone gets in your face and dares you to do something…Don’t tell me you wouldn’t do something about it. Everyone isn’t made the same way, so we’re all not going to react the same.

Jennifer, I am not sure that you have grasped the big picture of what really happened. Tina was on her on her own in this particular challenge and she knew without a partner she was nothing. This was a poor excuse for “bowing out” instead of being embarrassed that her true colors of not being a very good competitor would shine through. I think she instigated the whole scenario with Beth for a way out.

Tina, why did Bunim Murray spirit you out of Brazil before the local policeor the US Embassy people could interview you?
Is it true that you asked Tiffany (BMP person) if you would still be paid if you hit Beth?
Is it true that you sent messages to people after you returned to the US extolling your assault on Beth and that your “friends” posted these messages on the internet?
Do you have an attorney?
