Have a Wedding or Bar Mitzvah at the Real World Brooklyn House

by Michael Martin on February 24, 2009

You may be able to have a wedding reception or Bar Mitzvah at the former Real World house in Brooklyn.

Red Hook developer Greg O’Connell and restaurateur Buzzy O’Keeffe have proposed to convert the Civil War era warehouse into a catering banquet hall.

No word on the proposed name of the place, but a hunch is that it will include an O’.

According to The Brooklyn Paper this was proposed earlier in February at the Brooklyn Real Estate Roundtable.

The hope is that The Real World will help usher the revitalization for the Red Hook area from the ashes of being called Dead Hook.

You could then even have a Real World cast member or two appear at your event in this catering hall by simply contacting the MM Agency.

Putting my “Brooklyn Boy” video on youtube was inspired by the idea of Real World coming to Brooklyn. Maybe this could be played at a wedding at the Real World house. I’d be so honored.

In the piece it was written for, it’s sung by an opinionated young Jewish man trying to romanticize Brooklyn to the woman of his dreams in the hope that she’ll fall in love with Brooklyn in the same way she’s fallen in love with him.
