- Before the MTV Real World Road Rules Challenges she was an AP News Entertainment reporter.
- Diem was known as the cast member battling cancer with the great attitude on the Fresh Meat Challenge.
- Diem learned she had ovarian cancer three weeks before leaving to The Fresh Meat.
- She delayed cancer treatment until after the challenge as she did not want be bitter about it and was also an opportunity to visit her moms homeland of Australia.
- Diem Brown went into intensive chemotherapy upon which she created a medical misfortune on-line caring community - Live For the Challenge.
- Diem has been on 5 Real World Road Rules Challenges that include The Fresh Meat, The Duel, The Gauntlet 3, The Duel 2, & The Ruins.
